Edexcel Unit 3 assignment brief
Edexcel have just announced their Unit 3 assignment brief: PERFORMANCES MUST MAKE THE AUDIENCE WATCH AND THINK. Many of Mark's plays do this but it would be great to see some different plays out there on the exam circuit.
So with that in mind, take a look at Driven To Distraction, a play by Danny Sturrock and Mark Wheeller. In this play the central character previously involved in a major pop act suffers as a result of news breaking regarding a scandal surrounding the lead singer's behaviour back in the day.
In the light of recent revelations this has suddenly become highly topical... and as Edexcel say... makes you think....

Oasis Youth Theatre are holding video'd auditions for the 25th Anniversary Production of Too Much Punch For Judy which will appear as a bonus on the dvd. Auditions on 11th September 2012 at the Oasis Theatre in Southampton 6.30-9.30 recalls on the following Sunday 6-9.

Mark has written the lyrics to Johnny Carrington’s play Mitchell’s Wings. Charting the success of RJ Mitchell and his genius invention of the Spitfire. Written to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the test flight in Southampton. Music by Paul Ibbott. Due to be performed in March by Maskers Theatre Company & Oasis Youth Theatre.

One Million to STOP THE TRAFFIK won the All England Theatre Festival. It now represents England in the British Final in Scotland on the 24th June.

Mark's latest play: One Million to - STOP THE TRAFFIK, has won a place in the Final of the All England Theatre Festival and will be performed as the final play in the evening session.
